"Jus joke" is the universal Hawaiian Pidgin backpedal, used by people of all ages to signal that a previous statement was meant playfully and shouldn't be taken to heart. It functions exactly like "just kidding" in standard English but is often deployed much faster, usually the second the speaker realizes their teasing might have crossed a line.

In local culture, where "busting chops" or teasing is a primary love language among friends and family, this phrase is an essential social lubricant.
